COOKIES POLICY
Effective: June 23, 2026
Version: 2026-06-23
This Cookies Policy explains the cookies and similar technologies used by CuzHens Market (cuzhens.com), operated by CuzHens LLC.
1. What Is a Cookie?
A cookie is a small text file stored by your browser.
We also use:
- Local Storage (browser storage)
- Web Push API
- Service Workers
- Similar technologies
These technologies help provide marketplace functionality, improve user experience, maintain security, and support marketplace operations.
2. Categories
Strictly Necessary (Always On)
These are required for the Service to function and cannot be disabled without affecting core functionality.
Name Purpose Lifespan cuzhens_session Stores your login session as a signed JWT. HTTP-only, Secure, SameSite=Lax. Up to 30 days view_as Used by the admin impersonation feature. HTTP-only. Session cookie_consent Records your cookie preferences. Indefinite
Functional (Essential User Experience)
These technologies improve usability without identifying you to third-party advertisers.
Key Storage Purpose zip localStorage Remembers your ZIP code for local farm discovery. cart localStorage Stores shopping cart contents. push_dismissed localStorage Hides dismissed push notification prompts. pwa_install_dismissed localStorage Hides dismissed app install prompts.
Analytics (Off Until Accepted)
Analytics technologies help us understand marketplace performance and improve user experience.
Examples include:
- Page views
- Search activity
- Ad impressions
- Ad clicks
- Featured listing interactions
- Error reporting
- Performance monitoring
- Conversion metrics
Current Analytics
First-Party Event Logging (always on)
We collect coarse counts of:
- Page views
- Search terms
- Ad impressions
- Ad clicks
- Featured product clicks
- Funnel events (view_item, add_to_cart, begin_checkout, purchase)
This information is associated with a rotating session identifier rather than directly identifying individual users. It is stored in our own database and never shared with third parties for their own purposes.
First-Party Error Beacon (always on, internal use)
When your browser hits a JavaScript exception, an unhandled Promise rejection, a 5xx API response, or a network failure on our site, our error monitor POSTs a structured event to our own /api/analytics/errors endpoint (rate-limited to 25 unique error groups per session). The event captures the error type, error message, the route you were on, anonymous session ID, browser/OS/device type, and — if you are logged in — your CuzHens user ID. Used solely for bug triage in our internal Error Analytics dashboard.
Google Analytics 4 (consent-gated, admin-toggled)
Loaded only after you accept the cookie banner, and only if our admin has configured a GA4 measurement ID. GA4 receives a Google-issued device identifier (not your CuzHens user ID), IP-derived city-level location, page-view events, search terms, product interaction events, and purchase events (transaction ID + value — never card numbers or personal information).
Microsoft Clarity (consent-gated, admin-toggled)
Loaded only after you accept the cookie banner, and only if our admin has configured a Clarity project ID. Clarity provides session replay, heatmaps, and frustration-signal analytics (rage clicks, dead clicks). Clarity records anonymized page contents, mouse movements, scroll depth, and click coordinates. Free-text input fields (search boxes, chat boxes, profile fields) are automatically masked by Clarity before transmission. Microsoft is contractually limited to processing this data on our behalf and does not use it for advertising.
Decline either or both by tapping "Decline" in the cookie banner, by clearing your browser storage for cuzhens.com, or by sending the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal — see §5.
Push & Messaging (Opt-In)
Web Push
Your browser may provide:
- Push endpoint URLs
- Push encryption keys
- Notification subscription data
This information is stored only when you explicitly opt in.
You may revoke permissions at any time through:
- Browser settings
- Account settings
Service Workers
Service workers enable:
- Progressive Web App (PWA) installation
- Offline support
- Performance improvements
Service workers are not used for behavioral tracking.
